She is dressed in most of her original meet outfit, including some borrowed pieces. Non original, non Mattel items include the included socks and pantalettes. The socks are just plain white knee-ish socks for 18 dolls and the pantaloons are from who knows where, lol- but they are similar-ish to what she would have come with with their eyelet trim. Her long floral dress with back Velcro is original and retains it's made in Germany tag. It's in very good condition, just with weak Velcro closure, if anything.
Her boots are original and are okay- there is a nick on the bottom of one and the lacing hole is stretched as shown. Her hat is a bit later than her dress, tagged 1996.
Kirsten herself has condition issues, most notably writing on her foot and a very, very sad wig. I have been able to lighten the foot graffiti quite a bit with a lot of effort. But I'm calling it at this point. Her wig probably needs replaced as it is dry, damaged and looks like it's taken a few scissor hits here and there.
I did my best to braid it as she would have come, using replacement ribbons, to minimize how impactful her hair appearance is. One hand was bitten - fortunately not as bad as I've seen- but it is worth noting! There is also a small spot on her bottom of likely bleach? It's smaller than the tip of a pencil eraser. One of her eyes (see photos) looks like it has a small amount of silvering on the bottom pinwheel. Like most dolls of this era, even with fresh strings and tight limbs, she doesn't stand as well as a modern girl. For display, I'd recommend purchasing a stand??
She has been thoroughly cleaned and looked over. I did restring her with high quality cord since her limbs were very loose. I was able to remove many spots and blemishes on her vinyl, but there may a few spots or shines that I could have missed. Please review photos carefully for best representation of her condition at present. She has been played with and enjoyed and has a great future ahead! Her hair has been styled similar to its original'do. She has a few short hairs here and there and while her wig is still full and lovely, I do think her prior bestie may have lobbed a chunk or two that is hard to spot.. I do not have her original ribbon, but I've replaced it with something similar myself. Nothing special but close to what she would have had. Kirsten is such a beauty and such a classic and if you're looking for a pre-loved pioneer immigrant child with a survivor's heart, this may be your girl!
