1987 Original American Girl Doll Kirsten Signed Pleasant Co. Rowland Pleasant

For Sale is this Original Kirsten American Girl Doll by Pleasant Company. She is signed Pleasant Co by Rowland Pleasant, dated 1987 and is numbered 1505 of the first edition dolls.

For the past 13 years she has been in storage but now is the time to sell her to someone who will enjoy her as much as I have over the years. She was only displayed once in while, mostly at Christmas time. Kirsten comes in her original outfit.

Checked bonnet, blue printed dress, striped apron, necklace (cord with a faux amber heart), brown striped socks, leather boots, undies (elastic waist has stretched over time and should be replaced), red ribbons in her hair. Kirsten has never been used as a toy. Kirsten has never had any repairs and comes with original stringing. The body is clean and free of stains.

Arms, head and legs move beautifully and she can still be posed. Her hair has never been brushed except her bangs sometimes.

Using my fingers does the trick. Her hair has never been cut or taken from its original braids. Kirsten is in excellent almost new like used condition. Although there is no tissue in the box, she does have her original box. This set comes with the Original Blue Painted Trunk with painted design.

The trunk has some wear on it from being moved around, and then being placed in storage. The box is in solid condition and I do not see any major issues, but there is slight chip in one spot. All seams are still tight, the ball legs are still firmly in place.

There have never been any repairs made on this trunk and no touch up paint jobs done. The original Pleasant Company emblem is on the trunk in excellent used condition. There are no bends or dents in the metal emblem. There are some scratches and some nicks in the blue paint.

The design painted on the trunk is in wonderful condition and appears to have no nicks or damage to it. The bed that fits inside the trunk is also still in excellent used condition.

There are no breaks or cracks on it. There are again, as with the trunk, some minor paint chips on it from being removed and reinserted over the years. Also it is not warped, which can happen with this kind of wood. Comes with the stuffed mattress and pillow.

Both are in wonderful condition. This set includes the first 3 books published by Pleasant Co.

They are: "Meet Kirsten", "Kirsten Learns A Lesson" and "Kirsten's Surprise". The bindings are not worn or broken.

All 3 are hardcover books. They still have their original dust covers. No rips, tears, folds on or in these 3 books. There is some mild aging discoloration on the edges of the dust covers of the books whereas they were not acid free. Her original Holiday set includes: White Dress with Red Ribbon, Red striped socks, Christmas Crown intact and in excellent new like condition stored in its original box.

Also there is her blue wooden tray, cloth, flowers, candle and candle holder, and 2 Traditional Swedish coffee rolls. Next is her bedtime set which has her white nightgown with blue design and her lovely little doll. Moving on we have her school set. The dress is red/burgundy print and plaid shawl. The wooden lunch box contains Cheese, bread, meat and apple with a cloth to lay her food out for a picnic. Her school bag is brown print with a draw string, it contains chalk board and rag to erase the board, ruler, school book and flash cards. Additional pieces are ribbons for her hair and a brush. Most of the Clothing is labeled Pleasant Co as with some of the other pieces.

These are (other than the books) what Pleasant Co. Set as a package for the doll and her accessories.

Everything in this collection came from Pleasant Company in 1987. Additionally you will receive The Original "Certificate of Authenticity" Which has the number of the doll "1505" and was signed by Rowland Pleasant. When my daughter was young her father always promised her a trip to Disney World. That promise was not fulfilled. He has passed away and I believe this is the best way to try and fulfill that promise to her.
